Grasshopper Sedge, Carex sp. 'Grasshopper'
Sun or Shade, Cool-season
This sedge shows bright cream variegation that’s very eye-catching. It looks best in spring and early summer before the heat. It is planted in full sun at the trial; it may perform better in a more shaded setting.
Although it claims to be hardy in this zone, these plants had to be overwintered in a greenhouse. They seemed to do better in the 2008 weather and didn’t get burned by the heat.
