Autumn Flame Grass, Miscanthus ‘Purpurescens’
Full Sun, Warm-season
This grass did not have as good establishment during the first year as some of the others. While it’s supposed to be one of the larger varieties, it stayed relatively small. Its common name derives from reddish fall color display it typically has.
The second season did not produce much better results. The plants seemed to just sit in the ground without growing! A few blooms were finally observed in September, but it’s still much smaller than advertised.
